Obscured
In these paintings, I apply a "screen" over previously painted
abstract images.   The image is visible through the screen with some
parts being more obscured by it.  The result is an interesting
interaction of colour, and a sense of mystery and of light
penetration.

Metaphysically speaking, this is generally how we perceive the
world.   The subject is obscured by our pre-disposition, prejudice
and lack of information.  We read what is visible and attempt to
discern what we cannot see.  We like to get closer to the subject but
we cannot break through the barrier.  Conversely, we are misread
when others try to perceive us.
