I love the way in which water moves and makes its marks on a
wet surface. These paintings involve the application of paint
wet-on-wet over the entire canvas, or over only parts of it,
hence showcasing water's subtle patterns and movements.
In my earlier work, I painted on gesso-ed canvases, allowing
bold images to be shown against subtle background. In more
recent work, I selectively seal the canvas, and subsequently
apply paint wet-on-wet on the raw fabric of the unsealed
areas. In this way, I am able to contrast "hard" objects with
"soft" objects, and, manipulate the sense of depth.
